About the Government and Policy Track

The Government and Policy track at the 2009 Cerner Health Conference is designed to help attendees make sense of the many different changes occurring in healthcare through the federal and state governments.  Participants of this track will hear about topics related to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, as well as the current federal health care reform being debated in the House and Senate right now.  We will have speakers available to talk through the complicated issues of Meaningful Use, health information exchanges, global perspectives of health reform and many more.

If you are interested in learning more about reform, please consider attending one of the sessions in this track.  Of particular note is the power session, “The State of American Healthcare,” featuring speaker Len Nichols, Director of Health Policy at the New America Foundation.  Nichols will offer a full overview of all the reform initiatives taking place in 2009 and how hospitals, health systems and industry partners can make sense of all the changes coming their way.

For a more global perspective, please join members of the National Health Services’ Connecting for Heath program as they discuss how their country has navigated major reform.
